BS: 'Preemptive Impeachment'

Molly Ivins, in the most recent issue of The Progressive relates the above and the following slogans seen on signs at anti-war rallies:

"Drunken frat boy runs country into a ditch"

"How did our oil get under their soil?"

"You can't spell war without Dubya"

"Mainstream white guys against war"

(Under a picture of George Bush)"Why should I listen to the American people? They're not the ones who elected me."

First amendment folks; let's not forget the first amendment. God knows the republicans used it on Willy.

Hey Kendall, what's an amendment? Aren't they some kind of protection that's long gone & past? Barry

How about:

"Where is Monica Lewinsky now that we really need her?"

Well, I like 'em too.

I also think a couple of normally polite, intelligent Mudcatters need a refresher course in manners.

I like them, too and have seen a couple of them here. Not pre-emptive though. There has been a call to impeach him before the war started. Also, on March 19 an ad ran in the New York Times calling for his impeachment. You can read about the movement and view the ad at Vote to Impeach

Peter? Is that really you? Surprising if so.

It's only the people with lives that are against this war! Oh, sorry, am I interrupting your sports announcer's statistical jabbering? *BG* ;^)

I especially enjoyed the last one, vl!

Great idea! Why don't you "Bush aginers" join Ramsey Clark's effort to impeach the president! I think he's going to need a lot of help.

More of Molly Ivins (Yes!)

And while you're at it, check out another Fort Worth Star-Telegram contributor, Etta Hulme, editorial cartoonist.

here's a few "new" (to me, anyway) ones I noticed at the march in Boston yesterday:

Do You Feel Safer Now?

Lesbians Against Boys Invading Anyone (The acronym is "LABIA")

W = (Nazi swastika)

Eat Another Pretzel, Asshole

Make French Fries, Not War

Make Love (to me), Not War (with Iraq) (held by a handsome young man)

Drop Bush, Not Bombs

The one I liked best from the big London march:

"Make Tea Not War"

Thanks, for that link, Maggie. Molly Ivins is one of the sharpest people in journalism. She should make you proud to be a Texan. (I know, you're from the land of the geoduck, but for now...) She points out how U.S. government officials have managed to alienate, insult, and offend dozens of nations all over the world. As she puts it, "Have you ever seen such amazing incompetence wedded to such awesome arrogance?"

Aloha,
Mark

The only thing I've seen that could equal it was Mussolini. As for Hitler...kind of similar, but he was a bit more competent.

From where I'm sitting, it looks like Dubya is slowly impeaching himself.
