BS: Obit - Michael Jeter

Micheal Jeter passed away the other day from natural causes. Around our house he was known as "Mr Noodles brother, Mr Noodle" on Sesame Street. You might remember him from the comedy series "Evening Shade" - but one of his best roles had to be as the cross dressing singing telegram in "The Fisher King".

At the time he was working on a film of "The Polar Express" - the producers seem to think they have enough footage to complete his portion of the film without him. He was one of my favorite character actors and I'll miss him. For more info check out cnn.com.

considering he was fifty and had come out as saying he had hiv in 97....it is doubtful the causes were "natural".

I liked him. I watch Sesame St. on occasion and would see him doing some very physical routines.

The first time I saw him was in Tales of the City.

Ah well damn...........I suspect it was complications of the HIV virus but it could have been something else.......What a friggin' bummer!

Michael Jeter truly created "characters." Every role was something different and some new personality emerged. Great as he was in "Evening Shade," you really have to look at all of those other roles like Mr. Noodle or his stunning and heartwrenching performance in "The Green Mile." Hell, he was great in "Waterworld".....and "Mouse Hunt"...........Ya' know my absolute favorite? He did this great part on several episodes of "Picket Fences" as the Frog-Man that made you laugh and cry at the same time.

Way too young........neat guy........superb actor........

Oh, rats! I really, really liked him. So sorry to hear this. Thanks Wesley for letting us know.

You're right, Spaw. I didn't see him in Evening Shade or Green Mile, but loved the quirky, endearing diffidence he brought to each character.

I've seen The Green Mile - it was an excellent movie, but I don't know him. What part did he play?
