Hi, Drosten - this site (click) has lots of Dougie stuff and lyrics, but, alas, no Kelphope Glen. It's on the Singing Land album, and I don't have that one.

I've got it, Joe.

KELPHOPE GLEN
(trad. arranged by Dougie MacLean)

Oh sing no o' mountains and wild raging seas
O' swift swelling torrents, or cliffs grim and hie
But sing o' the burnies the hill shepherds ken
Oh sing o' the beauties of lone Kelphope Glen

I hae seen ye, fair Kelphope, in summer, sae bricht
In the still autumn evenings, by the harvest moon's licht
And when winter's brave tempest swept ower Scourin Den
And when spring blooms hae decked ye, oh lone Kelphope Glen

I hae gumped in your waters, a bit callant at school
I hae sought oot the whaup's nests in moorland and hill
Through your green paths, I've wandered, in the gloaming hours, when
Love made twa hearts lighter in lone Kelphope Glen

Oh sing no o' mountains and wild raging seas
Swift swelling torrents, or cliffs grim and hie
Oh, but sing o' the burnies the hill shepherds ken
Oh sing o' the beauties of lone Kelphope Glen

Hi all, thanks for the replies. Problem is that thats not the whole song. Theres another verse that begins something like " noo I hae left ye...." and thats the one I need. I dont have a copy otherwise I would just listen to it and get it that way. Any one else able to help?

Noo i hae left ye and my word i'm undee
In a far distant country across the grey sea
But wha'ever may befall me the kind oor send
That i am special see it o' lone kelphope glen

Does anyone know anything about the origin of this tune? Dougie lists it as traditional but I can't find any other records of it.

You could contact Dougie through his website and ask him yourself. If you don't want to do that, he's performing a concert in Perth in about 2 weeks time to celebrate his 50 years as a professional musician. If I remember, I'll ask him on your behalf.
