I don't know the lyrics, so I guess I'm no help. My favorite bit of Muppet musical nonsense came in the early days of Sesame Street, maybe only the first year: a wimpy little human muppet singing "Lulu's Back in Town" in a tone of desperation, explained when Lulu shows up, a Terminator-type Lulu. |

Another good one is "To Morrow" (I set off on a journey just about a year ago, to a little town called Morrow in the state of Ohio. . .) I will take any Muppet lyrics anyone has that they know the comlete songs. I know most of the words on a bunch of songs. I have always been a Muppet nut. Go to the upper right hand corner where you will find a search block. Type in {Nobody's business] and find two songs, then come back and type [to morrow] and the journey will be yours. Be sure to use the brackets, they make it search for that specific phrase. Otherwise you'd get every song that said business and worse yet, every song that had the word "to" in it. The muppet hillbilly band would show up on occasion to sing songs of that nature. I liked some of the songs on Sesame Street too. The famous It's Not Easy Being Green, If I'd Known You Were Coming I'd Have Baked A Cake, and that eastern-European sounding song that The Count sang about, of course, counting. I have a Christmas tree ornament of one of the old guys in the balcony. Wish I had the pair.:) |

I couldn't find the "Nobody's Business" that I know. It's a man and a woman singing back and forth to each other and the only part I can remember is: "You've got a gal you love on Monday Then you've got another on Sunday-" "Ain't nobody's business, but my own!" I read a story somewhere a few years back that the song was originally created by a woman who worked with the Children's Television Workshop and had a developmentally delayed son. She was trying to come up with a way to teach him letter-recognition and reading, something the "EXPERTS" said couldn't be done. She made up the song, sang it to her son, and he not only understood the concepts, he consequently learned to read. Further proof of the cosmic whimsy and gracious genious that underlies all muppet work... I strongly suggest seeking out the recording that was made as a tribute to Jim Henson. Can't remember title, but it is filled with songs that Jim Henson's special characters would sing. Ernie, Kermit, and Captain Vegetable are my personal favorites...oh, wait: Did he do Grover too, or was that somebody else? Sigh. Anyway, I miss him. --Cuilionn |

His is another case where everyone knows the songs, but nobody knows the artist.

It turns out all of the three songs requested are in a book found at this web site (and quite possibly many others).
