You could try putting up a tent in the bedroom maybe? Over the bed perhaps?

Construct a simple shelter from all those CDs and songbooks.

PS Mary, thanks for the invite, but I think I better stay and make shure no other leaks open up... no place to put the bed, so either a tent or sleeping bags... or the tub? Larry

I called the building inspector when I lived in Brooklyn and got tired of the dripping celing in my top-floor apartment. Where was the leak? In the bathroom, and conveniently, it dripped right into the toilet. Downside--it dripped on your head when you were on the pot! I finally rigged a large trash bag, some duct tape and a tube of sorts out of Saran Wrap that ran from the snipped bottom corner of the bag to the sink. Looked like a gigantic udder with a milking machine hose attached. The building inspector thought it was pretty nifty. Apartment owner wasn't thrilled with any of it, because he could never find the leak and had to do the whole roof.

SRS... of course the down side of such a rig, is if it pools, then lets go all at once at a bad moment, could cause permanent const..............ernation. CHeers, Larry

The ceilings are dripping in ol' New York City,
The ceilings are dripping and, oh, what a pity...

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
It wouldn't be so bad if I weren't in my bed
Tryin' to get some sleep
Where's that duct tape and plastic that I bought just in case...

Sorry, Larry

Say old man - why don't you get up there and mend that ol' roof ?
Well stranger every time I goes to mend it, it's always raining.
Why don't you mend it when it's dry ?
- It don't leak then !

If it only leaks after the snow starts melting its probably your flashing or what is known as a snow dam (the reason for snow angels or snow birds on old fashioned roofs).

For a hundred bucks you could go to the Wal Mart and get a dining canopy which will provide a lovely covering over your bed. Add one citronella candle by the bed, and you should be able to screw your "Significant Other" into a coma, what with the gentle rain on the canopy and all. And when it runs down to the lower floors, those occupants will be the one to complaint about two or three noises; the dripping, the squeals, and the mattress squeaks.

Adapt and Overcome...

And Larry, if you fail to follow my advice, you'll still have to sleep on the wet spot...

Feeling better, Claymore?

A candle of citronella
And my fella.
An icy roof that leaks
Squeals and squeaks
Neighbors, grumps
Complaining 'bout the thumps
Larry heeds old Claymore
Coma for sure

Think Rap for this one...
