acoustic workshop at Sun Inn, Beverley

The acoustic workshop has been running on alternate Tuesdays at the Sun for the best part of a year - we started on alternate Tuesdays so as not to clash with other Tuesday sessions such as the Sloop: How life changes! About 3 months ago we started on the alternate Wednesday of the other week with a more bluegrass/country session as a bit of a contrast to the quite trad, tune based tone of Tuesdays. In fact we end up playing anything at both.

At the Wednesday one last night the 20 or so musicians there agreed to swap the weeks about so that next week we will have another Wednesday session (16th) followed by Tuesday the week after (22nd) and so on.

The change was to avoid the clash with a noisy ladies darts team on the Wednesdays (they meet every other week) – we couldn't hear ourselves properly for their shouting and they couldn't hear their scores being called out because of the music.

So, next Wednesday April 16th we will be meeting up in the Sun at 8.30pm

Well attended, good do.   The government ought to to something about darts!   How about rubber suckers, a totally enclosed booth and a licence!

Is anyone welcome?

Well, if no-one was welcome it would be a bit pointless...

Of course anyone and everyone is welcome. The evening sessions grew out of the Sunday ones and are intended to be less frenetic than some very fast musicians get togethers. This Wednesday we had around 20 there and at least 6 had not been before.

The landlord buys your first pint too - how much more welcoming can you get?

Sorry for being completely offtopic:
Noreen, do you ignore my PM or did it not reach you?
