All-Britain Fleadh

Subject: All-Britain Fleadh
From: GUEST,Chris Boland (Born Again Scouser)

This year's All-Britain Fleadh will be hosted by the Liverpool branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk, Lancashire, on the 28th and 29th of June 2003. This is the last 'heat' before youn Irish traditional musicians from Scotland, Wales and England get the chance to compete for the All-Ireland championships at the All-Ireland Fleadh in Clonmel in August.

The venue is a beautiful college campus on a hill overlooking Ormskirk and the West Lancashire plain. It promises to be an exciting and idyllic weekend of music, song and downright good fun.

Admission prices are to be confirmed. Accommodation is available on-campus for £25.00 including breakfast. Anyone who wishes to help us in any way by sponsoring the event at Edge Hill or by advertise in our programme can contact me at CCBJEBBRB@aol.com.

Slan

Chris B

Thanks Chris! Was just thinking today I might get to the all-Britain this year after many years' absence, and wondering about getting details. This couldn't be much handier!

Say hello to Sean Mac for me. :0)

We're still looking for volunteers and sponsors for this event. Anyone interested can get me on CCBJEBBRB@aol.com. Admission will now be £5.00 for an adult on Saturday, £3.00 for under-18s and family tickets will be £10.00. Admission to the Saturday Night Ceili will be £5.00 but tickets must be bought in advance. Tickets bought on Saturday are good for the weekend. Sunday prices are the same.

Thanks.

everything you should need to know about the All Ireland fleadh in August should be here at this comhaltas site. If you look in the section for the fleadh.

Comhaltas web site

It's usally during our last bank holiday in August... the weekend before the bank holiday monday.

Fleadh (All Ireland) info

I'm going to that one too.

As far as which is the closest branch for you... I suppose Cambridge would be the closest - then there's Birmingham, Coventry.

Cambridge branch website

I know it's not near... but here's our branch....
Newport South Wales Branch

Good luck

Ella
