The first annual Caspar World Folk Festival will take place on August 9th and 10th, 2003. Scheduled musicians include Wake the Dead, Panacea, Cait Reed, Chaskinakuy, Chris Caswell, Faruk and Ali Sinan Erdemsel and Husnu Tusuz, W.B. Reid and Bonnie Zahnow, Manose, Kammen and Swan, Don Pedro Dimas, Nuba, the Govea Family, and Cynthia Lllano and Frannie Leopold. There will be an all-day Irish Celidh, a Contra dance, a French village dance and a Cumbia and Salsa dance. Want to play? You can sign up to perform in the Children's Tent and the PG-13 Tent, and join in the Songs of Social Significance singaround and the Sacred Song Swap. Camping will be available just across the highway, and some local motels and bed and breakfasts are offering festival discounts. The festival concerts will undoubtedly sell out; for advance tickets and a festival schedule, check the festival website: Caspar World Folk Festival. You can also e-mail them at: CWFF@casparcommons.org |
