I've been told that I've been volunteered to introduce the singing and dancing at a do this Wednesday and have just realised that I know nothing.I found info for most of the songs but I don't know where this song comes from or what it's about? Calling on song for a Mummers play maybe? Can any one help me befor Wed? THANKYOU

I have never heard of hal an tow but the expression "heel and toe" is very common in regard to Scottish stepdancing at least in the old tradition still done in Cape Breton. Perhaps that is what this means.

Hal & Tow is the name of a group from the eastern New Beunswick area. They are very very good too.

Tis a Cornish fertility song/dance and it takes place in Helston on 8th May each year (except when it falls on a Sunday in which case it's Saturdayised) as part of their Flora/Furry Day.
