I recently saw yet another film (not the one cited next) in which snatches of the "Dublin" song listed here was sung. While I know that the original "Babylon" or "Glesca-Lea" source lyrics can be found here in the DT, I am curious to know the words to the "Dublin" version. Does anybody have them? |

There I heard more than one rider encourage her horse with a funny little clicking of the tongue against the teeth. (At my house, we call it the 'cat-feeding noise' for reasons which should be obvious.) I am sure that the 'click, club or clip' words above are supposed to be this noise. Kids would love it! |

From: GUEST,Guest Sandi I saw Boy with Green Hair as an 8 year old in 1948, learned the song on the spot and have been looking for more verses ever since. Since it seems there are none, I will teach it with an additional verse inserting London for Dublin and changing from 4 score and ten sir to 3 score and ten sir in the second verse I am making up-just to make it a little longer. It's a great little folk song. I guess one could make it any length and insert lots of different towns, including one's one home town, etc. That's the neat thing about traditional folk music. |
