23 May 03 - 05:31 AM (#958110) Subject: Stolen guitar - Toronto (Ontario, Canada) From: Jeremiah McCaw Friday, May 23, 2003 Toronto resident and performer John Stroud has had his Martin 12 string stolen on Wednesday night. It was taken from the hallway of Fat Albert's coffee house on Bloor Street. Albert's been going for 36 years and this is the first instrument ever stolen! John has spent a lot of time Thursday visiting pawn shops and and still has to check to clarify his insurance situation. The guitar is a Martin DM12, serial #819956 and has a "rare earth" pickup installed. There is a rough or scuffed spot resembling pick marks between the pick guard and neck, i.e. the upper bout area. It's the only area of the top that appears blemished. The case is the standard Martin case, but has several large tropical fish decals, a triangle, a rose and several Canadian flag decals. John is not on the internet, but I'll happily pass on any info that comes my way. E-mail: jeremiah-mccaw@rogers.com |
