18 Jun 03 - 06:11 PM (#968643) Subject: BS: 'Tilting at Windmills' From: Murray MacLeod I am hoping somebody who has read Don Quixote more recently than I have may be able to help. When Don Quixote tilted at windmills, did he think they were knights, or did he think they were some kind of monster ? It is many years since I read the novel .... Murray |

I know it worked for you, but our voltage is much stronger over here, and it might have adverse side-effects. Murray |

Married life in Scotland is just fine Sorch, thank you, (no call for replacement hydraulics yet thank God ) but I really miss living in the US, and I have a feeling we may yet be moving back there one day. The call of the Cuban coffee is just too strong .... Murray |

19 Jun 03 - 01:35 PM (#969183) Subject: RE: BS: 'Tilting at Windmills' From: PeteBoom Well, MacLeod - with a name like that you should know that tilting at windmills, that appear to be giants, tends to hurt you more than the windmills. Having said that, a great enough cheer and a solid charge, one of these times they may just break and run. Or, put more simply, if the task is worth doing, don't count the odds, just do it. Yes, the book was a long slam on society at the time, and could be retold as a slam on today's as well. Don't let that bother you... hold fast - Pete |
