The Mudcat Cookbook, Whiskey Before Breakfast (And Other Meals from the Mudcat Café) will be going to press any day now. I'm still making a final choice of printer, but cookbooks will begin shipping in approximately 3 weeks. Whiskey Before Breakfast includes 140 pages of recipes from some of the Mudcat's finest cooks, a reference section with measurement conversions and more, and tunes to play while waiting for your meal to cook. The book is coil-bound, making it easy to lay flat for cooking, and sports a glossy, beer-resistant cover for those of you who are messy cooks. A preview of the book will be going online soon. All profits will go to the Mudcat Café. A limited number of these are being printed, so place your pre-order now and be the first on your block to own it! But it won't be much -- it's got a plastic coil for binding, not hard cover, and those overseas only have to pay the difference, not the entire shipping cost. At most another $2 US. Meanwhile, send me a PM and I'll reserve a copy for you until I have hard numbers. Meanwhile, back at the ranch... samples of pages chosen at random here and more here. I hope to make a final decision for the printer this weekend. Despite some early concerns about generating a viable profit (i.e. donation to Mudcat) from such a small order, I have a couple of printers who are in a comfortable price zone and will provide the services necessary (like final proofs) that will make me comfortable sending away the money. So I've come to a decision -- there's no reason to penalize international users of Mudcat by charging them more shipping. $15 covers the cost of the book AND shipping anywhere via global economy mail. Since this method is so slow (up to 4-6 weeks), I will provide international users with a hyperlink that they can use to view the cookbook while they are waiting for it to show up. For those international users who don't want to wait, I can ship via Airmail (about 4-7 days) for an extra $10.00. |

International orders will go out Economy, though, which officially takes 4-6 weeks but in reality seems to take 4 days - 6 months. I can send it Priority International for an extra $10 each.
