It will be at Upper Dicker Village Hall, near Hailsham in East Sussex.
Cost is £12.50 for adults which includes camping for the whole weekend on the large, level campsite.
Bar with Harveys award winning beer on the site. Bring some of your own for late, late, late sessions when the bar is closed.

I'll be going to the Three Mariners - I've got a good excuse for not going to the Travelling Folk do - I'm banned - along with John Pratt.

That sounds interesting Dave, how do you get banned from a friendly folk festival.......?

From: Dave Bryant

Oh I'm banned from Travelling Folk completely. The ruling matriarchal clique have had it in for me ever since I supported a friend of mine, John Pratt against one of their members.

To be honest Linda and I have only been out with them about three times this year - and then only because the venue's been nearby and we had sod-all else to do. As I'm sure you realise, Debbie, Linda and I don't need the security blanket of a crowd of others to find a pub to sing in. Back in the past Travelling Folk were a great crowd, but now that many people (including Ted) have left, we find the sessions rather boring.

Mind you I don't know really what they could do if I turned up at a session - perhaps they'd try the disgusting tactics they tried with John when they gave a photo to the pub landlord and asked him not to let him in (to his credit, the landlord refused). I obviously wouldn't get a song - but then I usually only get one. I wonder if I'd be barred from joining in choruses !

Sounds to me like you are as popular with them as you were with us at last years Lancaster Festival.

Lancashire Lad - A man after my own heart!!
Now I know I can go to Travelling Folk and hear myself sing. As for Dave Bryant only getting one song - you're lucky if you get a look in!!!

Hi Dave.

I didn't see you at Rainham.

You missed seeing Andy (aka Jeff) make a right pillock (and perhaps a left one too) of himself.

Lancashire Lad and anon. Grow up. There are singers I've heard, and seen Dave's lips move but not heard him. If you don't like what he does, respect his ability. You don't have to be a fan, but don't be irrationally snide.

Dave Bryant is a great bloke, though sometimes misunderstood by others. He certainly livens up a lot of sessions. I look forward to his next BBQ!

Thanks for the support lads - BTW Travelling Folk were conspicuous at the Knockholt weekend - by their absence !

We've noticed that the core clique only tend to go to their own events and sessions these days.

I am not really sure what this is all about. However, I always enjoy Dave's singing and participation in our events. I also had a really fantastic time at the Song and Ale weekend and I would Like to thank all the organisers for it. I met some old friends and some new ones as well.
Could someone tell me where the song about 'forgettin the words'(Sorry if my memory of the title is not quite right - A night of Harvey's Ale) came from' I really enjoyed it?

I forgot to mention that by this weekend - There shall be some photo's I took available on my site - via the link on the Folkmob site - just not enought time to put them on yet.

Most of the people who came said that they really enjoyed themselves and...
yes...
there will be another one next year, possibly on the same site.

Watch fRoots festival list, Mr Red's listing and other festival listing sites for details.

Dave, I think Pat sang the song you're referring to. PM me in September and I'll ask her for the words if you can't get them before then. I won't see her before then so can't get them sooner.

Thanks to the many people who came, contributed and helped to create a really friendly, relaxed atmosphere for everybody.
Mary

If the song was " Oh sh*t, I've forgotten the words " it was written by the late Murray Lewis.

While 'Oh S**T I've forgotten the Words' might be a suitable song for Dave Kenningham, judging by his performance at Knockholt, he wouldn't be able to remember the words of that either.

Perhaps some-one should write a song called 'Oh S**T I've forgotten my guitar' for him.

Just joking Mr K - we all love you - after all you're the first person whose ever put a page on their website featuring ME.
