Since the music company went bust the place is up for sale - 5 bidders - 4 pubs and 1 cafe - one says "maybe entertainment". J D Wetherspoons offering to carry out 1 million pounds on pub conversion. The place is surrounded by pubs but I don't suppose that will make any difference. |

For a brief summary of the situation by Chris Wade, see Beverley Picture Playhouse at the Yorkshire Folk Arts site. Bids are in, and a shortlist is being prepared. Whether this is simply stalling for time is difficult to say, but Beverley councillors have now asked E. Riding council for further time to consider all options. |
