it was brilliant...i had two spare tickets though which i couldn't get rid of :( will get the money back but anyway, he played for about two hours, lots of guitar solos, a bit too many 80s songs but did some old favourites (1952 vincent black lightning, wall of death!) and more guitar solos. launched many jibes into the crowd as usual, and well, yay, richard thompson!

Thanks for info Leo.Im amazed that it wasnt sold out.I find it hard to understand that hes almost unknown by the general public.Even some of the new singers dont know his stuff...To me hes an all round genius
Thanks again Ake.

He managed to play for around 3 hours, not include Beeswing, Vincent Black Lightning, Galway to Graceland, Bright Lights, Dad's gonna Kill me, or any other 'greatest hits' and still the time flew by. He did play a version of the 'Angel's have taken my Racehorse' off Henry the Human Fly. I've been going to RT gigs since 1976 and that was the first time I'd heard that (favourite) track live!

The songs off the album work better live, and the band are simply tremendous - Pete Zorn was on great singing form, and Michael Jerome is a brilliant percussionist, whether on just one bongo drum or using the whole kit.

I would have liked a couple of just RT on acoustic numbers, but then he does play whole concerts like that, so I'll have to catch one of those.
