09 Jul 03 - 05:06 PM (#980116) Subject: BS: Suddenly my DVD won't play From: Kim C A plain ol' DVD movie I have played on my DVD player several times, suddenly won't play on the DVD player, but will play on the computer. The DVD player doesn't seem to have this problem with any other DVDs. Yes, we have cleaned it. It will show the FBI warning, then an error message pops up that says something like, "playback function may not be available." Any ideas? Thanks --- KFC |

But DVD players can be set so as to play DVDs from different regions. So could it be that the DVD in question comes from a different world region from the others , and the player has switched itself back from multi-region to a particular region? In which casee it should be easy enough to adjust it back. |

But yeah, I reckon I will probably just buy another one... even though I thought DVD technology was supposed to bypass this kind of stuff... |
