BS: Where do we get these wierdos?

Subject: BS: Where do we get these wierdos?
From: CraigS

I've just been reading the thread about GW Bush, Moloch-worshipper. Along with the "Why don't you convert to Islam, the religion cum law system for perfect peace of mind, mutilation of criminals and unnecessary agony for dumb animals" and the subliminal "KKK means Christian" threads, I'm fed up of letting crank guests post their opinions here. I think they should register to post messages, and that a mechanism should be set up for anonymous posts to go through Joe (sorry about the extra work, pal) if some individual thinks he may be tortured for expressing his opinion. All who agree say "aye".

It ain't the opinion, it's the way these guests use this place to express it anonymously, then (usually) disappear into the wild blue yonder. At least I can PM you, Amergin, if I don't like what you say, and not clutter up the board with more rubbish like this comment (just making the point, folks, while cluttering the board).

Craig - whilst I take your poinr, don't forget that there are enough of our own weirdos prepared to support any wacky theory, or conspiracy senario.

Bit of research into past posts will reveal, on thier own admissions, attention seeking, requests/admissions of the need for phyciatic help (SP), and an unfailing belief that whatever they read on the Internet must be the truth.

So, in these times when people are being investigated for the beliefs and even their internet use, is it too hard for you to fathom that sojme folks, while exercising their constitutional rights to express themselves, may be a bit paranoid of the Tome Ridge's and John Ashcroft's who are Hell bent on goose-steeping conformity?

Did you get any more "Trailor Park Boys" episodes? I hope so. I'm still recovering from the last lot which were great!

Craig, you need a new hobby in the worst way. I suggest wombat dancing or alligator wrestling. Either one can assist you in working off those hostile feelings in a completely harmless manner.

And if you really want to know where we get these weirdos from, I will tell you. 58 per cent of them come from Blind River, Ontario. The other 42 per cent from all over, but probably more than a few of them from Schenectady, New York. That about covers it. Avoid Blind River and Schenectady like the plague if you are doing much traveling and/or gigging. If you don't believe me about Blind River, ask Rick Fielding. He has played music there, and lived.

Speaking of weird, today I found familiar surnames in a 1928 newspaper in a list of members in a new at that time KKK cell in Juneau, Alaska. I have no idea how long the cell was operative or how popular it was or what kind of bigotry they practiced, but I'm somewhat dismayed. I do a lot of research in old microfilmed papers but I never ran across this before.

One oddity that pops up in the old days far more often than I would expect is the diagnosis of insanity. It happened often. Someone, usually a man but sometimes a woman, goes mad and they're shipped down to Morningside in Portland Oregon, Juneau evidently not having the facilities for them. I remember one news story where two prospectors sharing a cabin had both gone mad and they shipped them off together.

Fragile beings, we.

Ebbie:

You have to ask how the term was used and defined; in those days you could get another human incarcerated on charges of being insane just by being a little more friendly to the judge than they were, or getting there first. It was often used to dispose of those who were not in fact mad but were merely inconvenient to someone's plans or social aspirations.

My fellow weirdos, let us remember who we are, folk music enthusiasts who like to talk about the Hairy Ghoolie of Cleckie, and the giant squid. As the Cheshire cat said, "We're all mad here". Some of us are madder than others, (W. is NOT worshipping Moloch. He would never worship a deity whose name he couldn't spell.) They add color to our discussions.
The KKK was big all over the United States in the 1920s. They controlled the state of Indiana, and the Pittsburgh sheetheads sent my grandfather a threatening letter. Dad remembered finding it in the mailbox. (They did not carry through with their threat.)

I thought of that, Amos, including the fact that these people were usually prospecting for gold, and if they found good color might be vulnerable to a little judiciously applied force. I'd like to read a follow up on them- wonder if most of them eventually left Morningside and perhaps returned to Alaska? Most people, of course, have family- I wonder if they were notified. I'll never know...

(I like 'sheetheads', Lady Jean. And it reminds me of a friend who says, Forget about 'shoulds'; people tend to 'should' all over themselves.)

It wasn't funny, of course, BDiBR, but when I found that news story I had to laugh a bit. It was such a graphic image.

Well, you don't just become a kook overnight. Takes a lot of research. When I read 'The Franklin Cover-up' I did a book report I posted to bulletin boards. Below is an excerpt of the book report. This book was written by one of the most stable men I've ever seen a bio of. The below is fact, and it is just a grain on the beach of the atrocities committed by the Bohemian Grove crowd...the crowd about to achieve total control over your life. Read what's below and tell me my response to these people is irrational:

CHAPTER 15: "Kathleen Sorenson's Story"

At the time of his death, investigator Gary Caradori (who was investigating the drug and sex-ring aspects of the Franklin case) was known to be pursuing two tracks -- the Washington DC connection, and satanism. A satanic magazine was seen by a farmer at the site of Caradori's plane crash in rural Illinois, but that magazine disappeared and no mention was ever made of it in the news or by the National Transportation Safety Board, which investigated the crash.

DeCamp talks about how, in 1974, ritualistic cult activity in parts of rural Nebraska was a big enough story to be featured in a Washington Post article. The article described livestock being gutted, drained of blood, having their sexual organs removed, etc. And it was about that time that Nebraska farmers and ranchers started to become very aggressive in guarding their livestock. As a result, some people think, the ritual sacrificers turned away from the guarded livestock to unguarded humans.

One of the young victim / witnesses in the Franklin case, Paul Bonacci, describes this episode...Larry King picked him up after school one day "and took me to the Triangle which is in a wooded area in Sarpy County. I witnessed a sacrifice of a human baby boy.... They used daggers to cut the boy and filled a cup with his blood and mixed urine in it and forced all of us to drink from the cup..." Then they prayed to Satan. Bonacci told his psychiatrist, Dr. Judianne Densen-Gerber that he had been involved with 4 different satanic cults in Nebraska...some of which had very well-known members. And he (Bonacci) had been told he'd be killed if he ever told about the cults.

DeCamp then devotes the bulk of this chapter to Kathleen Sorenson, the woman who had taken in Nelly and Kimberly Webb after they left the abusive Webb household. Sorenson was a Christian from Blair, Nebraska who had taken in more than 30 children over the years. She had been on local, state and national talk shows...even made an appearance on a Geraldo Rivera show about satanism. Sorensen said that as she got used to taking children into her home, she noticed they all had similar ways of behaving. The ones who had been severely abused were uncommunicative at first, but once they came to trust their new surroundings, they would start to open up. She said the stories they told were far-fetched, and she and her husband initially thought the kids were just fantasizing. But then they noticed patterns. Kathleen Sorenson said this about it:

"There are certain things that are common in the childrens' stories when we talk about devil worship.... There are things that come up in every single story, such as candles. They all talk about sex. Sex is without a doubt a part of every area of this, all sorts of perverted sex. That is what you will first hear, about the sex, about the incest, and it is so hard to believe. But once we get that, we have learned that we can go on and ask and find out...and it will involve pornography; that is always part of it. Part of the reason is that they can use that to threaten the children. "We have pictures we will show the police if you talk." It makes the children feel that they are in great danger, and they are all very frightened of the law. They talk about the garish make-up that the people in the group wear, they talk about singing that they didn't understand. Obviously that is chanting, and that has come up in every one of these stories, and none of them call it chanting..."

Two of Sorenson's foster children were brothers, about 7 and 9 when they moved in. "...they told about sexual abuse at one point, and were very grieved. We talked about good and bad touching and we thought we really had gotten to the bottom of it, and then that afternoon the little one began to cry, and when we couldn't get the answer from him, the older brother said, "He is probably crying because he was in the room, when they killed his friend" That was the first one we know about. And as they described that, they talked about that particular victim being brought into a room, hands and arms tied, mouth taped, and how there had been x's marked on his body, on his vital organs. That was bad enough. Within a very few weeks we learned that it was not the adults who had killed that child. It was this oldest boy, who was talking".

One boy "...curled up in a fetal position, he was 9 years old when he was telling the story. He curled up in a fetal position, and his eyes got real glazed, and he said, "They cooked that baby on the grill..."

And another time, while talking with two children, Sorenson says, "...they talked about throwing the babies in the fire. And I asked about that, "You mean they were dead when they threw them in the fire?" and the littlest one said, "No, no. Them was alive and them threw them...."

And Sorenson talks about a conversation she had with a young girl, "...And they eat parts of the cat... And again, this was just the beginning. It progressed, and the next time she had to kill a baby, the same way... And they cut the baby open, and they ate the baby. They do this, so there are no bodies left, and they burn what is left and grind up the bones..."

These are some of the less offensive quotes from Sorenson. You wouldn't believe what some of the children described. Anyway, Kathleen Sorenson went public with what she had been told, then she died in a head-on car crash in October 1989.

Former FBI agent Ted Gundersen evaluated the car wreck and announced it a satanic contract suicide. The other driver didn't die, but well could have. In satanic lore, however, a person who loses his or her life in such a contract murder / suicide will be reincarnated with more power, granted by Satan.

Kathleen Sorenson was driving on a long stretch of road between Fremont, Nebraska and her home in Blair. Several people knew which road she would be on, and at what time. A car was travelling in front of her (which was possibly the 'spotter' car used in such a situation), and another car, coming from the opposite direction, crossed the center line and rammed into Sorenson's car, killing her. Both the young woman driver and her husband had prior arrest records for cruelty to animals, a common marker for satanism. Not long after Sorenson's death, a teenager in a youth care facility told a worker "You better watch out or we will get you like we got that lady from Blair". The youth went on to describe a ceremony of drawing lots for the privilege.

Psychiatrist Dr. Judianne Densen-Gerber encouraged the Franklin Committee not to disband. She talked about a 'denial syndrome' people exhibit when confronted with shocking and repulsive information. She said, "...it takes two to three years for the average person to get through the automatic denial that goes along with this kind of material. The first human defense mechanism against untenable horrific facts is to say that they don't exist".

Dr. Densen-Gerber testified that one particular satanic ritual had caused such denial in herself. Three different patients described it to her before she finally came to accept it as fact and not fantasy. In this ritual, an unpregnant woman is cut open...as if receiving a Caesarian section. Then a two-year old baby is placed in the open uterus and bathed in the blood of the dying woman. Dr. Densen-Gerber said it wasn't until she heard the same ritual described by three independent patients that she finally overcame her reluctance to believe such a horrible thing could actually be taking place. So she urged the Franklin Committee not to disband...to give the people of Nebraska time to come to grips with what was going on in their midst.

Dr. Densen-Gerber also said of the victim / witness Paul Bonacci 1) He had an extraordinary memory for detail, making him an invaluable witness, 2) He did not lie, 3) He had precisely described satanic rituals used by international cults, and it would have been impossible for him to know about the rituals unless he had participated in them.

I'm assuming that Morningside is a "booby hatch" from the previous postings. This to a Scot like myself gives rise to great hilarity, as Morningside is also a posh suburb of Edinburgh, and I'm sure that the stately matrons of that area would be outraged if they knew. It's a bit like The Hamptons on the social scale, and the accent is pure plum in the mouth. If you remember Maggie Smith's accent in The Prime of Miss Jeran Brodie that's it.

Well GUEST, that may be true. If it is, then there's only two things I'm sure of ...

1) There's diddley-squat I can do about it myself (Moloch would probably munch me and Dubya et al would probably bomb me or jail me if I tried) so I may as well not worry about it. Worry only gives me more gray hairs.

2) I'm gonna make d*** sure I'm the happiest, healthiest darn sheep around till it's barbeque time! I just bought myself a bamboo flute today, and a penny whistle, and I'm putting THOSE in my mouth instead of cigarettes from now on! Isn't that COOL?

   :-D

I found inspiration to do that right here on the Cat earlier today. I searched for "bamboo flute" on the digitrad, trying to find out why I can't make a decent sound on it yet, and why playing it makes me dizzy. ANd I found my answers in this message from Jande, including some unexpected "advice" about using the flute to help me stop smoking. See?

I've wanted to quit smoking for a very long time (I think some Catters already know this), so THANK YOU VERY MUCH, JANDE and MUDCAT!

I like using Mudcat to help people out (including myself), rather than spreading around Baaaaaaaaad news. If I wanted Baaaaaaaad news, I'd check out CNN, or CBC, or the New York Times or something. That is a very wise perspective on things, Daylia, and you've picked a most agreeable way to quit smoking. Good work!

While there has always been great oppression, D.G., there has also always been life and death and all that lies in between them. I am going to die anyway in the next 1 to 3 decades at the most. I hope that I will find some measure of inner peace and a greater love for myself and the rest of life before leaving this vale of tears, pleasure and pain that we call Earthly existence. I can't find inner peace by endlessly obsessing about the many dire oppressors in this World. Yes, I know about them, I am concerned about them to a degree, but I am far more concerned about things that are directly under my own jurisdiction...like achieving my own happiness and inner grace. First things first, my friend. But...by all means continue doing what you feel is helpful. That's the best that any of us can do. "You can be in my dream if I can be in yours."

As I type, the companies Rumsfeld and Cheney and the Bushes founded or used to work for are cutting deals to provide N. Korea with nuclear materials. Sad part is, even if they are and they did know it, do you think they'd really care? Somehow, I doubt it. Orders are orders, and a paycheck is a paycheck.

Thanks for your encouragement re fluting instead of smoking, Little Hawk!
And to you too, Lady Jean.

My mother died of lung cancer. It was sheer hell on both of us. I'm all for anyone quitting smoking

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother, Lady Jean. I wish only the best for you as you recover from the "hell" that must have been.

Sure, everybody dies, but why die of lung cancer, which is slow and painful

*sigh*   Thanks for reminding me. It's something I can gently tell my "inner child" when it starts pestering me ENDLESSLY for a smoke ... and then I can give it something different that it likes. Like a bit of chocolate, or a walk in the woods, or a long episode of fluting!

when you can be shot by a jealous wife/husband. Well, I'm just glad I'm single today, or the weird noises coming out of that bamboo flute for the last 24 hours would have got me shot for sure! But I even managed to hit a Bb this morning, as well as a C! (and "hit" is the right word, it was a pretty "abused" Bb! -- but it was a Bb!)

I wonder how flute players stop their faces from permanently freezing up into that pucker-position. Perma-pucker -- that's what my face feels like today!

GUEST, (or, DG I guess), I realize that you are doing what you think is best to make this world a better, safer place for everyone. I appreciate this, and I want you to know that I respect your efforts. I'm glad you've found some inner peace by following your own instincts.
And that's no Molarchey!

Be well --- daylia

Perhaps there should be a nominal membership fee to join Mudcat. $100 per year shouldn't hurt too many of us. This would do two things. First it would keep the trolls aways. Second, it would provide the needed money for computer maintenance Kinda kills two boids with one stone. Of course one of the muckety mucks should have the power to eliminate the fee for those who are truly needy.
