Complete song list for this book submitted by Masato Sakurai, 20 July, 2002, in thread 46751, Gold Mining Songs (American),2: Gold Mining Songs 2 Thomas Dunn English pub. the poem "Ben Bolt" in 1843. Nelson F. Kineass composed (or adapted?) the tune in 1848, based on a German melody, according to Leslie Nelson-Burns at www.contemplator.com. Author and date of composition of "Shady Old Camp" not known? |
