The event will take place on Saturday, 22 May, 2004 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon during the Yorkshire Gathering. A ceilidh and other folky fun will immediately follow the ceremony. |
19 Jul 03 - 10:40 AM (#986553) Subject: RE: BS: Wedding at 04 Yorkshire Gathering From: Allan C. Morty can have the gin. I can't bear it. My preferences are for brownish liquids such as Kentucky or Tennessee sipping whiskey (12 year old George Dickel will do nicely.) Jameson's has great appeal as well. I also like beers that have a bit of treacle in them or, of course, Guinness. However, to quote a dear friend, "If scotch were all there were to drink, I'd never have become an alcoholic." ...er...which I am not, BTW. |
19 Jul 03 - 12:22 PM (#986591) Subject: RE: BS: Wedding at 04 Yorkshire Gathering From: Les from Hull Look I've told you people how to drink gin before. Get a stainless steel vacuum flask. Half fill it with gin. Get some really good ginger beer (if the ingredients say 'flavourings' rather than 'ginger' don't use it). I recommend Fentimen's. Add the ginger beer to the flask. Put the flask in the freezer. Take out (much later) and drink on a really warm day. I bet even Allan could drink gin this way. I need to be convinced about 'merican whiskey, though, Allan. Bring plenty - I'm a slow learner. In return we will provide Powers and Paddys, which some (including us) prefer to even Jamesons. If George Dickel is only 12 years old, he shouldn't be drinking. What are his parents thinking of? |
19 Jul 03 - 12:45 PM (#986596) Subject: RE: BS: Wedding at 04 Yorkshire Gathering From: Allan C. Sounds enticing, Les, especially if you pour the gin on the ground rather than to put it into the flask with the ginger beer. |
