Any 'catters be at the Philly Folk Fest?

Not really a tune, but a musical question none the less. I'm considering getting an all festival plus camping ticket. I'm being positive that my chemotherapy won't have me down so much that I can't go.

Reply to the thread with your thoughts and also send me a PM so we can possibly get together.

No.

When it becomes a folk fest I may reconsider.

I will be there on Saturday.

Sorry Bert, while you are right in saying that it isn't a TRADITIONAL music festival, the Philadelphia Folk Festival works to put together a good blend of contemporary, folk revival, and in bits and pieces - traditional music. More importantly, the festival is a celebration of community. Without that, there will be no festivals of any type and the music will return to bookshelves.

Thankfully there are a number of traditional festivals that are probably what you are looking for (and that I also enjoy even more than Philly), but I would not be so quick to knock an event that had done much to perpetuate ALL kinds of folk music.
