I'm considering getting an all festival plus camping ticket. I'm being positive that my chemotherapy won't have me down so much that I can't go. Sorry Bert, while you are right in saying that it isn't a TRADITIONAL music festival, the Philadelphia Folk Festival works to put together a good blend of contemporary, folk revival, and in bits and pieces - traditional music. More importantly, the festival is a celebration of community. Without that, there will be no festivals of any type and the music will return to bookshelves. Thankfully there are a number of traditional festivals that are probably what you are looking for (and that I also enjoy even more than Philly), but I would not be so quick to knock an event that had done much to perpetuate ALL kinds of folk music.
