Recycling Old Folkies

I had to make a 'continuity announcement' from main stage at Warwick about the recycling bins. I commented that there was one for glass, one for paper, one for bottles and that next year we would have another one for recycled folkies i.e. put one Wilson in and get a Harriet Bartlett out. Any other ideas folks ?

Depending on which Wilson, I hope poor Harriet doesn't arrive with a beard!

Norma Waterson and Martin Carthy might make one Eliza Carthy between them. Oh,no, that's been done already.

I dont know why but this thread reminded me of Roaring Jelly and their 'Inflatable Folkie' Routine.Absolutely Hilarious.

Can't feed them to your cats. The content of plastic is too high.

It would be nice if more women folk singers looked like Cheryl Ladd and fewer looked like Bela Abzug.

Feminist reaction!!!!

Are you looking at the package or appreciating the music? And what about MALE folk singers. Is it mandatory to have a beer belly to be a folk singer?

Rant over - but why is the wrapping so important???

Just joking! A male folk singer without a beer belly is as rare as one with a full head of hair!

Plenty of hair and no beer belly here! 'Ang on, I must be doing something wrong...

I could think of at least haf a dozen, that you could put in a rubbish bin, mix them up, and pull out......RUBBISH.
Giok

Les - are you sure you're a folkie? Must be a rare species. I only know a couple of good singers with hair and no belly! I think it's the fact that most gatherings take place in pubs......

If you re-cycle old folkies you get skool fields. Ahhhhhhh, that's where it all started.
Behind the rifle range, (our school in Grimsby had an army cadet force). That's where I learnt about promiscuous osculation and ...... well, all those other nice things that you can never quite believe can ever happen, until you finally do them.

That's what happens when you recycle old folkies.

And yes, I do have a physical manifestation of all those pints of beer and bottles of wine that I've drunk, just as I have the skill and experience that's a legacy of all of those ladies who have been good enough to share their lives, likes and fantasies with me......

There ain't nothing wrong with an old folkie!!!!!

At least, that's my excuse for not being able to see my toes.

Not all old folkies are fat- what about, "...a skinny oldtime from Ole Cheyenne...?" Only a Malcolm, or Masato, or Offer, etc. will know this reference!!!

With respect for Jean Ritchie, the good folk singers are in no need of recycling!

Better to be recycled than to "just fade away............."
