Got this announcement from CBC. But... I've never heard of this Canadian Folk Music Walk of Fame!

2. SOUNDS LIKE CANADA:

Today on Sounds Like Canada...exploring an eclectic music festival in Vancouver that features Korean and Cuban rhythms. Guest host Terry MacLeod meets a farmer who lost his farm to forest fires in 1998. Five years later, his homestead is facing the flames again. And Arthur McGregor, the driving force behind the Canadian Folk Music Walk of Fame in Ottawa. That's Sounds Like Canada, this morning at 10 (10:30 NT) on CBC Radio One.

For a country that has never really celebrated its heroes, we seem to now have gone in for Yankee "walks of fame". I am afraid it makes little sense to me. I would however be prepared to lobby in support of making the new square at Yonge and Dundas in Toronto named after Ronnie Hawkins (The King of Yonge and Dundas). yours, Peter T.
