Called Nip It In The Bud. It's a tribute of sorts to Barney Fife. The chorus goes something like: I've got to nip it, nip it, nip it in the bud. Nip it, nip it, nip it in the bud. I think I need to get a life and say good by to Barney Fife and Nip it, nip it, nip it in the bud. I have found that it was by "Comedians Rooster (Todd Yahn) and Roadrunner." Or at least that is what the John Boy and Billy Show website says (that's where I've heard it). And that's all the site says. I haven't been able to find anymore info than that. Any help? Especially lyrics? Thanks! |

Lyrics I know are the chorus (above) And another part is: Oh, my Barney, oh, my Barney, had a jail and couldn't lock it. Had one bullet for his pistol, had to keep it in his pocket. Now that appears to be another song - sung to the tune of Clementine, but it also appears in the "Nip It In The Bud" and actually continues with a part that is: "His left front pocket. Episope 125 (or whatever #) His right front pocket. All other episodes - His left front pocket." The refference is that he appeared to keep his bullet in a different pocket in only one of the episodes that shows the bullet in the pocket gag. I know this is espteric, but I can't believe that the lyrics aren't out there. |
