BS: A Watery Quiz

Subject: BS: A Watery Quiz
From: The Walrus

Ladies and Gentlemen,

For your diversion and entertainment I submit my own humble attempt at a quiz.
The some of the clues are laughably easy while some are slightly more involved, I don't think there are any real 'stinkers'there.

The answers all relate to rivers or bodies of water

As usual, please do not post answers here, I'll follow Nigels lead and post them in a few days.

I trust you will enjoy it

Good Luck.

Walrus

Well said, Joe Clone - though I could have used some help. Only 14 answers, and I'm sure one of them is wrong.

Urrk!

Hrothgar, a search engine is your friend, and Mudcat keyword search works as many are songs. I haven't had time to work on this, but I'm sure (haha!..right) I got half of #19 and a few others.

Well I've sent in an answer to all except No. 6, but there's a lot I'm not sure of.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

My apologies,

I've just noticed that the system seems to have drooped out part of one of the questions - probably my fault for using triangular brackets.

7) "Up the River our troops shall Advance,
To the Grenadiers' March, we will teach them to Dance"
    Cape Breton, we've taken...."

should read

7) "Up the River [insert name here] our troops shall Advance,
"To the Grenadiers' March, we will teach them to Dance
   "Cape Breton, we've taken...."

Not that it matters, those that have answered it have got it right anyway.

Regards

Walrus

Well I've done ten out of my head that I'm fairly confident of, and sent off to Walrus.
Q6, the two seas riddle is intriguing. I've been thinking hard. Given it's a riddle, I presume we can ignore the possibility of two actual seas. So I guess it comes down to two things pronounced, but not spelt "sea", or alternatively a river beginning and ending with the letter c. And I cant think of one of them either. I'm not computer literate: can you type in something like "river c......c" and get a search to find anything that matches?

There appears to be only minimal interest here, I've only had a few responses (top marks so far go to Snuffy with 19/21).

I'll post the answers sometime Monday.
