Yet another one I'm looking for. Up to now I've concentrated on traditional English folk and had no problem finding words on the Cat. Now I've started going to what is basically an American folk/Bluegrass session once a month and the regulars are kind enough to let me sing a couple of numbers. My English folk doesn't really fit in so I'm madly checking out all my Country music for suitable songs. I'm also looking for the words to Once A Day, if anyone knows them.

SEND ME THE PILLOW THAT YOU DREAM ON

As written and recorded by Hank Locklin:

Send me the pillow that you dream on
Don't you know that I still care for you
Send me the pillow that you dream on
So darling I can dream on it too
Each night while I'm sleeping oh so lonely
I pray that time will let our dreams come true
Send me the pillow that you dream on
So darling I can dream on it too

Send me the pillow, send me the pillow

Each night when I sleep I dream about you
And wish that I was dreamin' next to you
Send me the pillow that you dream on
So darling I can dream on it too

Send me the pillow that you dream on
So darling I can dream on it too

Send me the pillow you dream on
Send me the pillow, send me the pillow

Send me, send me, send me the pillow that you dream on
Send me the pillow, send me the pillow

Once a Day

Written by Bill Anderson, as recorded by Connie Smith

When you [F] found somebody new
I thought I [C] never [C7] would
[C] Forget you, for I thought then I [F7] never [F] could
But time has taken all the [F7] pains a-[Bb] way
Until [F] now, I'm down to [C] hurtin' once a [F] day.

CHORUS
Once a day, all day [Bb] long
And once a [C] night, from dusk till [F] dawn
The only time, I wish [F7] you weren't [Bb] gone
Is once a [F] day, [Bb] ev'ry-[F] day, [C] all day [F] long.

I'm so glad that I'm not like a girl l knew one time
She lost the one she loved, then slowly lost her mind
She sat around and cried her life away
Lucky me, I'm only cryin' once a day.

CHORUS

Once a day, ev'ryday, all day long.

All I am asking for is to be one of this website's foremost authorities on American Country Music. No, I am not really Eddie Stubbs or Marty Stuart.

Jacqui. Two good sources for Country Music Lyrics are:

Cowpie
Harmony/OLGA
