From: Mark Cohen Just tried to access my supplemental email account on Hotmail, and got the message "the server is too busy," which I've never seen before. I seem to recall reading something about a coordinated hacker attack on August 26, and it's 5 minutes before August 26 on the East Coast (only 5:55 PM here in the islands). Vanguard? or coincidence? 26 Aug 03 - 12:25 PM (#1008422) Subject: RE: Tech: Hackers attacking hotmail? false alarm? From: SeanM It's happening all the time on *all* major mail servers as far as I can tell. I work tech support for a webbuilder company, and we use a rudimentary Outlook system. We're still averaging tens of thousands of Sobig.F messages daily. At the height, I believe we were averaging around 250k for the first two or three days. That's for somewhat less then 10k active members. Now imagine Hotmail's accounts... or Yahoo's... or AOL's...
