27 Aug 03 - 06:57 AM (#1008841) Subject: Folk BBQ in SE London 14/09/03 From: Dave Bryant Just to remind everyone that Linda and I have a second Folk Barbecue planned for Sunday 14th September from 2pm onwards. It'll be the usual "Bring it and Burn it" format and I hope to have 10 gals of my beer, although the recent hot spell might not have helped the cask conditioning phase. We had at about eighteen mudcatters at the last BBQ - for more details see this thread about it. |

16 Sep 03 - 05:18 PM (#1020171) Subject: RE: Folk BBQ in SE London 14/09/03 From: lady penelope Wotcha! I failed miserably to turn up to the bbq, but didn't regret this until I'd gotten over the fragile feeling I had most of sunday due to sticking two bottles of wine + sundry spirits away in four hours after a stressful house showing and the serendipitous arrival of a friend I don't see often enough. I've seen the piccies, "bbq in the back yard" doesn't seem to cover it somehow. Glad you all had a good time, I shall better prepare myself for next year............. TTFN Lady P. |
16 Sep 03 - 06:10 PM (#1020209) Subject: RE: Folk BBQ in SE London 14/09/03 From: Liz the Squeak Mudguard - Long pork is the term used by cannibals to describe humans they are preparing to eat, not to be confused with pork sword which is TOTALLY different and you won't find in most dictionaries either. It's called 'long pork' because of it's alleged similarity to pig meat. Almost anyone will be able to tell you what a pork sword is, you just might regret knowing - and be careful who you ask! LTS |

17 Sep 03 - 04:30 AM (#1020543) Subject: RE: Folk BBQ in SE London 14/09/03 From: Dave Bryant Morty - you're right - Long Pork didn't seem quite right somehow. Richard - must check that I've still got all my capos. |
