HI
I am trying to find the lyrics for a song that has the verse in it:
Are you still married, Mary Lindon?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sheila

Is that a bluegrass song?

Mac Wiseman sings a song called "Mary Linda" on the album "Live at Gilley's" by "Mac and Chubby."

Don't know if that's the song you want. I couldn't find any lyrics or sound samples.

Mac's record is a nice one, and the bass and drums are in moderation. I believe he considers himself "country" despite his early association with bluegrass. Any other recorded or written versions out there?

Allmusic.com has a sample of that recording by "Mac and Chubby" (Mac Wiseman and Chubby Wise). It contained these lyrics:

Is the first one that you married still kind and true to you?
Are you still married, Mary Linda? Is that knot of love still tied?
Or will there be a chance of seeing you later on tonight?

By the way, MARY LINDA was written by Len Babb.

MARY LINDA
As Recorded by Mac Wiseman & Chubby Wise

When I was sittin' in a tavern
In my old home town again
I was just about to call you
When I saw you walkin' in
Well I've been gone so many years
But things look 'bout the same
You're just as pretty, Mary Linda
And I bet you haven't changed.

(Chorus)
Are you still married, Mary Linda
Is your love still good to you
Is the first one that you married
Still kind and true to you
Are you still married, Mary Linda
Is that knot of love still tied
Or will there be a chance of seeing you
Later on tonight.

Come and sit down beside me, Linda
Let me tell you where I've been
Let's reminisce those high school days
And things that might have been
We were king and queen of the sweetheart ball
I thought love would always last
Now I'm runnin' out of future
And livin' in the past.

(Repeat Chorus)

G
