From: Charley Noble Well, one can visit the headquarters of Hooker Chemical (which has been renamed) and ask them how their clean-up of Love Canal is coming along. I never stopped in Buffalo, myself, unless I got lost trying to make my way back and forth across the border. I found the places I'd end up somewhat eeriy (pun intended), as I'd invariably end up in some huge lot filled with scrap metal or other body parts, and have to retrace my path to the Expressway. And the smell! It was distinctive enough to make the New Jersey meadowlands seem like a bed of roses. They do say, though, that some people live and work there. Cheerily, Charley Noble in Maine |
