From overseas it might be .com.au/ Two good search engines for locating Australian sites only are www.webwombat.com.au/ and http://au.anzwers.yahoo.com/ Yes, anzwers is the correct spelling. It stands for Australia & New Zealand. I have many fond memories of Maldon. My mother lived there and I visited there many times when she was alive. If you've a few spare hours there make sure you visit Carmens Tunnel, have a beer in the Kangaroo Hotel, and go to the top of Mt.Tarrengower ( 10 minute drive from the pub ) for a view that is breathtaking. Safe & happy journey. JG/FME |

24 Sep 03 - 06:06 PM (#1024607) Subject: RE: Maldon [Vic] Folk Festival. From: Joybell Maldon is a great friendly and still small festival. They take good care of their musicians too. We'll be there. We are old fogies and old folkies but we are giving a theme concert on "The Seven Deadly Sins" and it should be fun. Maldon can't afford overseas acts but they give good value with local and Melbourne talent and with a few performers from other Australian states. The town itself is quaint and pretty. There are rides, with music, on a vintage steam-train. Old-fashioned stuff like that. If the info. on the web-site is a bit weird, and I haven't looked this year, it's because they survive on a shoe-string. Please come along anyway. It will be worth the effort. We prefer the Maldon festival over all the others in Victoria -- even when we aren't on the bill. Look forward to seeing you. |
