I'm planning on supporting the daughter/weightlifter at the World Champs but would like to take in some folk.
Will bring picks and capo and a bunch of songs from here to there.
Would appreciate any advice, guidance, help and/or support.
11th nov till 19th nov approx.
Reckon it'll be a tad chilly/willies.
All offers considered.
Will pay my way.

Perhaps check the membership locations and try some PMs to the locals. It's a beautiful part of the world. The tropics of Canada.

THE person to contact there is Jon Bartlett. Are you reading this John? If he doesn't post here, PM him.

Check the VFSS site. The Vancouver Folk Song Society meets (or did 2 or 3 years ago) at the Quaker House in the southern section of Vancouver, around Oak Street if I remember correctly. .

Breezy
When I was out of work I used to check in to the Eurosport screenings and found I was always one session out for the right category but she got some honorable mentions nonetheless. So let us know how she does. I am working again now so have less time to "Breeze" around - as it were.

Hey, Breezy, How did things go in Vancouver when you were there a year and a half ago?

Saw Barachois at the cap coll and was very impressed, similar to the Old Rope String band, but more conservative.

A full house, and the enthusiasm of the audience was infectious, like everyone wanted the evening to be a great one, and it was.

We are far too reserved in u K

We just sit and listen when we should be clapping along

found out by hitting on a festival by accident at the library as I was driving out to the Unv of B C

So the start point is the Rogues Folk Club

Miffed that I came within one week of seeing Garnet Rogers

I popped into every music store I passed to find out but didnt find out much.

On the island

even bought a guitar in Victoria so I could busk on the harbour!!

Got hussled by a beggar but the following day I asked for the money I'ld lent!!! him back and he kept clear after that.

on my return I sold the guitar, it had nice action, but I swapped the machine heads over, so I still have a part of it with me, nice they look too, didnt lose money on the deal either. Got the tax back as well.

Last summer in Athens, the daughter became GB's 1st ever woman olynpic weightlifter and last week got a bronze in the European senior womens in the snatch.

My 2 folk clubs in St Albans have a perma thread Windward and Spotlight

The divorce fell thru so I'm still happily married.

Padstow this weekend

thanks for asking George

,Oh and I think the police are really nice.

Wow, glad you had a good time in BC! Thanks for sharing the story!

I always enjoy hearing about the travels afterwards.

People ask for information, for travel purposes, and we NEVER hear back.
