Especially after what he said about my cooking - sprouts like musket balls, burnt Yorkshire puds and gravy that set.... just like Mother used to make! Jimmy - it was a pleasure and don't worry, the ringing in your left ear will subside after a few hours away from Micca bending it! LTS |

06 Oct 03 - 02:33 PM (#1030715) Subject: RE: BS: jimmyt in UK From: open mike better call 'em shell cats mud backs sounds too much like wet backs which is a derogatory term for illegal immigrants (who wade the Rio Grande or some other river to get to the U.S.) |

07 Oct 03 - 05:30 PM (#1031387) Subject: RE: BS: jimmyt in UK From: Liz the Squeak OK, due to popular demand in the Mudchat, here is the recipe for the chocolate orange pudding. Some tips - a mandarin is a small, sweet orange that has a loose skin. Satsumas would be just as good. Use a bitter, dark chocolate. 450grams dark chocolate 4 egg yolks 1/2 cup raisins (I soaked mine in rum but you don't have to) 2-3 mandarins 200ml creme fraiche (French soured cream - mascapone cheese might do instead) 50grams dark chocolate for decorations. Peel the mandarins. Remove all the pith from both fruit and skin. Slice the skins really thinly. Melt chocolate, stir in egg yolks one at a time. Add the creme fraiche, raisins and peel. Mix it well until creamy. Grease a small loaf tin or any mould and line with clingfilm (Gladwrap). Pour mix into mould and leave in fridge to set. Meanwhile, melt the other 50grams of chocolate and use it to coat the mandarin slices. Leave these on skewers or a wire rack to set. When solid, turn loaf out onto serving plate and decorate with chocolate mandarin slices and more sliced peel. Leave out for about 20 mins before serving, to make it easier to slice. Serve in thin slices with the mandarins. It's just called 'chocolate orange slices' and a little goes a very long way! LTS |

Must remember that festival going is predicated on staying right there! Thnks fo everyi\thing UKers will return in the spring! jimmyt |
