Lyr Req: Public Domain AABA songs

Help!

I'm writing a book, and need to use a popular AABA song as an example of the AABA structure. I've been using "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", but my publisher says there will be a copywright issue and suggested choosing a folk song or something from the 1890s.

I'm having a heck of a time finding something that everyone is familiar with. Any suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Dan

Suggest that your publisher contact the folks who own the copyright and ask permission to use it--they grant it regularly, because I have a stack of books, including works about theatre, film, songwriting and of course, books about the Wizard of Oz, each of which contains all or some of the words--one book even has additional verses that were not included in the film--there is no reason that I can think of for you to make your text less interesting because your publisher is lazy--
