Take care and just think, how much farther down could you be? None? Well then, it's all uphill now. Mind you, uphill is a struggle. You know we're here to give you a hand. LTS |

Sorry for your troubles. I'd like to say things will get better but I'm not a fortune teller. I'm actually not a pessimist, I'm an optimistic pessimist. I'm positive I'm doomed! Try to laugh. |

07 Oct 03 - 09:37 PM (#1031537) Subject: RE: BS: I'm a bloody walking country song From: Big Mick Nathan, I have a couple of years on you. That is only important insofar as I got a couple of extra experiences to draw from. Let me just say this. Who you are.....the real guy that we know around here....comes out very clearly in your posts. You are smart, more importantly, you are intelligent. You have a great heart and quick wit. Take stock of yourself, my friend, and you will see that you have much to offer. There is someone out there that the Universe has in mind for you. You simply haven't found that person yet. But this much I have found to be true. If you keep trying to do the right thing, even in times like these, eventually things work out. In the meantime, look to your friends here for comfort.....and a good kick in the ass to get you up and going again. All the best, Mick |

Soemtimes a clean slate offers options that allow new convictions, and choices. good luck and hang in there. where, by the way, are you located.. did not see in profile any thing to indicate your location. |

I know it doesn't feel like it now, but I have found many times that a crisis is really an opportunity in disguise. This was certainly true for me a few weeks ago. Sometimes life can take the most amazing twists and turns. Watch for clues. PM me, if you would like to talk some more. Jenny |

08 Oct 03 - 03:48 PM (#1031933) Subject: RE: BS: I'm a bloody walking country song From: Amergin Thank you everyone...as for the bride to be...well we are talking and so hopefully will be back on track there... as for the job...i'm looking again...basically what happened there was that I missed a day and was late another day due to my car having problems. I live outside the range of the public transport so I had no way of getting to work...well yesterday i was sitting in the lunch room and i was told by that after three weeks of wearing these black shoes that i was wearing there for three weeks..and then suddenly they decided they were athletic shoes...so they sent me home knowing it would take me 45 minutes to drive to my house and another 45 minutes back...and so I was just over an hour late and they fired me for having 2 attendance points. I'm getting tired of being pushed around by the corporations....I wouldn't mind doing some pushing back.... ;) |

What kind of work place is that? Sounds like they were looking for a way to fire you. Did you talk to their Human Resources people-someone near the top, not a flunky, before you left? Why are we getting Celtic music ads in a thread about the blues? |

08 Oct 03 - 05:33 PM (#1031975) Subject: RE: BS: I'm a bloody walking country song From: Bassic Be assured, my friend, that you are not alone. Many of us have had very similar experiences. Why do I say this? Because you need to know that it wont go on for ever, life will turn a corner. Maybe slowly at first but it will. The most important thing is to keep faith in yourself. Down inside are all those fundamental strengths and qualities that have already been mentioned. They are YOU, they havnt gone away, they are just a bit overwhelmed at the moment, but dont doubt that they are still there because they are. Each of the problems you are facing are genuine ordinary life stuff, they happen from time to time. They are horrible things to happen but we can cope with them............. when they happen one at a time that is!! Unfortunately they have a habit of coming in waves and we get overwhelmed. We get tossed about in the backwash for a time and struggle to get a breath. Then the wave rolls back and we catch our breath and find a dryer patch of the beach for a while till we dry off. Then before you know it we are back on the shore line dodging the breakers again, and sometimes doing it for fun! At least that's how I saw it when it happened to me. I have just re-read what I have written and it sounds awful "folksy" and simplistic but I suppose if life is a country song then its appropriate. (if anyone wants to turn this post into a country song then that is ok with me but I want a % *Grin*) Good luck, trust and keep faith in yourself. G |

09 Oct 03 - 01:03 AM (#1032225) Subject: RE: BS: I'm a bloody walking country song From: LadyJean My sister made a nice living for several years dealing with companies like the one that just fired you, I'd suggest taking the S.O.B.s to court. There are such things as honest lawyers. I'm descended directly from four, and closely related to a fifth. (My sister is a loon, she can also be a colossal pain in the earlobe. But she's honest.) I'm glad your bride came back. If you will check out a thread I posted several months ago, "One Saint in One Thread", you'll see someone else's take on a similar situation. |
