Thursdays are difficult for me too; as indeed is Hull. The cheep bears sound too good to miss, though! I'll be up your way next weekend with Mrs P, if you can keep it going a couple of days longer.I've got my own sticks too (got 'em in Hull, as a matter of fact).

He can't hold the shift key down at the same time as pressing 9. But don't let anyone else know - it's a secret.

I was in Hull on Sunday ... it was closed for repairs, or something. I was so impressed with the city when I came up for the Sea Fever weekend, I persuaded my missus to come and see the place for herself. She wasn't so impressed when it took us three attempts (and about seven miles of detours!) to get to The Deep. Ah well, that's show-business!

Heloo, I just phoned BBC Radio Umberside, to ask them to tell people about our folk club, and tell them to go, first I rung the helpline, and got a recorded messege, then, i ring the main switch board, and the woman said "you have to put things like that in writing"!,
bloody bunch of crap!, i'm only asking them to say there is a folk club, not sign a big contract or something!
i suppose i will write to them then, i will go and buy a pen.

Steve - if you're here again I can give you the Old Town tour so beloved of Joe Offer and Bill Sables (it's got pubs in it!). I think that our museums offer more than Dep big see fish tank, and they're free! We've got Maritime, Transport, Anti-Slavery, Archaeology and more, also a fine Art Gallery (also free).

Thanks Les. We drove past your flat about three times (in each direction!), but as we were looking for somewhere to park, we couldn't drop in ... we got around the other museums on Monday (our "60 minute" tour of the Arctic Corsair took over two hours, and we got locked in on the boardwalk!

Waht a brillyant night!
there was singing from Bassic, Sweetfires, Block in the Corner, and them two new blokes, [Dave and Derek]?
and tunes from El Ted, [nice flamenco music], the true path?
it was really nice, and free currys, and pizzas.

and the manager enjoyed it, [dont knoe his name, think its jhon, but not sure really], he said sweetfire got a really good voice, and should be a singer, and he said he is trying to get a pub in this area, and , if he does, sweetfire, can do a gig there, and we can have a folk session there.

Thread entry :- It's official; my son is NOT a puff! I am a member of the HarriWatts International Acoustic Showband who performed (with gusto) at last night's bash and I agree that Sweetyfirey girly is super, and so is El Ted. The curry definately has potential and has ensured that a revisit to wonderful folky land shall happen again.
PS More people = heat. Kindest regards.

Verse One

I am just a mocking bird
Laughing at your clothes
I cannot be serious
It's your friendship that I choose
Take me as I am
I'm delighted I suppose
All your friends have run away.

This is the other half of the harri watts international acoustic showband we had an EXCELLENT night on Thursday, with the added bonus of FREE curry. Sweetfire has nearly signed a record contract, Bill Haley and the Comets said they would love to come again (who wouldnt)

A visit from our friend across the water, will lead when time allows to us returning the bridge toll fee !

Dear Sttaw Legend, I cannot wear a thong as it would interfere with my private parts unless you're suggesting that I'm 'Comin' out'.
Verses 2 and 3 will explain, and, believe me the music tells it's own story. Copyright next. Are you local to Hull?

Helo, I just read this whole thred,
sweetfire says "it would be even better, if a few more people joined"
Just to clear up any confusion, while it is a folk club, held in a social club, there is no need to join, admission is totally free, just turn up and sing/play or listen, all welcome.
