BS: Noteworthy Science

The New Scientist reports in this article that for the first time, scientists are preparing to deploy an artificial (prosthetic) brain section -- specifically a hippocampus -- into a lab rat.

Mirabile dictu!! The brain itself, a prosthetic? It's a long way from "just a hippocampus" to whole-brain transplants and prosthetics for people but it sure is an interesting step forward.

And in other news, gecko feet and nano-spikes, both important steps forward in the rising field of nano-technology.

speaking of brain implants! Monkeys can control robotic arm using implant
Now they'll be wanting solar powered robotic arms to fetch bananas.
