Foolish Virgins - Ceilidh Barton 1st Nov

The Foolish Virgins have been engaged to play a charidee ceilidh at the Assembly Rooms, Queen Street, Barton Upon Humber (sans hyphens), North Lincolnshire, which is here on Saturday 1st November 2003.

Tickets are £6.50 per head, which includes some class of grub. The caller is the charismatic Barry Evans, and as well as licentious dancing, we have been lucky enough to persuade Colin (it was Colin Thompson) and Karen (our own KJ) Thompson to do songs during the bits when folk have a breather.

The charity is called 'Katie's Concerts', and I will leave Blerk in the Corner to expound on what that is all about. The evening kicks off at 7.30pm, and closes at midnight. Where else could you have more fun with the lights on?

Are tickets available "on the door"?

I'm finding out about door tickets, but I also suspect the catering corps need to know how much spam to cut off. I have a couple of tickets spare if you need them, Gordon.

Not much time left to support a worthwhile cause.

I wasn't aware of this until one of our prospective clients told me about it, but Katie's Concerts has a website at this blue place which tells you all about the charity. It also features the superb Black Number Five, which is the celebrated new band masterminded by the talented (and good looking) Phil Collingwood, son of our own dear Bulk in the Corner.

Seesya Saturday

I'm cookieless on my workstation, Kaz, due to previous abuse in Mudchat at work, so I'll pick up your message tonight. For the record, we kick off at 7.30, so if you could turn out soon after 7 so that Barry can feed you into his excellent PA system, you should be ready to rock some time around 8pm. Thanks again for agreeing to make the night extra special.

Bassic, are you and RC coming? I have been asked by the organisers to tot up numbers from our peculiar community here, as they are grub shopping today.

Any more from the land of green 9in9er? Or further afield?

Thank you, Peter, you dear man. Yes, missionary work in the eastern hemisphere (just) is admissable. Send the delightful Miss Williamson my fondest love, would you?
