Junes' been one of my favourites from way back, with her great voice and grim beauty, she gets me going every time ...Ake |

25 Oct 03 - 04:09 PM (#1041714) Subject: RE: June on Jules From: akenaton I dont think I agree with Moo about the "Jools Show".Folk music does not sit well beside rock bands ,Rappers ect.On last nights show we had to listen to Sharlene Spitteri being interviewed(riveting stuff). I would have loved to have heard a short interview with June, from a personal angle.Iv always been a fan,but I find her personal side rather enigmatic.Anyone agree?.....Ake |

26 Oct 03 - 02:47 AM (#1041909) Subject: RE: June on Jules From: The Shambles As for the so-called interviews - with the scarcity of opportunity to see any kind of music on the BBC, that is not 'pop' - it is frustrating and a complete waste of the talents of all involved in the show to impose these pointless 'chats' upon us. For Jools Holland may be able to play the piano - but his interviewing skills are about as good as Michael Parkinson's piano playing. These do not have to be 'live' and can be shown separately. The show already tries to fit too many artists in to its 'oh so short time', to the detriment of them all and trying to fit in these 'chats' as well - is just crazy. |

26 Oct 03 - 04:06 AM (#1041919) Subject: RE: June on Jules From: C-flat I agree totally. The interview with the award winning rap artist was desperate. Even if Jools had known how to interview, his subject had nothing to say. Despite this, I still enjoy the musical mix, even if it is a little dis-jointed at times. |
