I heard it a while back at a music session in Ireland and I havent been able to come across the song since. Another song that I havent managed to find the lyrics to is "the missus, her mother, the bulldog and me". If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. |

I find only the John Kennedy example of the other song, as MMario describes; Roud lists it at no. 13157. |

I did some more poking around as your post indicated there was a song. This page for St Kevin's Oratory contains a reference: "...sing-song on Saturday night (particularly Kev's 'The Bull of Kildare'." There's an e-mail address on the page to A 'Kevin'. (Under 'Open House') It looks like a fairly old page, though. |

Anyone in the Kildare area will know of course of Goffs Bloodstock, where Irelands best Throughbreads are bred, always assumed that this is what inspired the song.
