BS: Obit - Hawkers Mudkitten Marmaduke

My furry friend and companion Maramduke the Cat made his way very suddenly, aided by a car, into the next life on Monday morning. He was a very loving animal, we took him from a rescue home into our lives and loved him for the best part of 11 years. May his soul rest in peace ;o(

Sorry to hear that Lucy. Hamm's kitten Pansie went the same way a few months back - and the only consolation is to think of the happy life they led & the freedom they enjoyed to be cattish. A cat you keep indoors won't get run over, but I think they enjoy a full life (with all its risks) a lot more.

He was a real star, we have a virtually blind cat, Dukie used to catch mice, bring them back and give them to the blind cat - Shadow is going to miss his pal big time!

I am sorry for your loss, Lucy.

I know we've discussed this before, but since you've mentioned the method of his demise, I have to add: my indoor cats, who have an outdoor run, say they are perfectly happy and safe, as all of ours have been over the past 20 years. I'd no more let them run loose, near the roads, than I would a child.

11 years - a goodish run for a cat, though some go much longer. But always sad to hear of someone's loss. Thoughts and prayers for you, Lucy and farewell Marmaduke... And somewhere near you, another kitten is looking for you, so take heart.

My deepest sympathy to you. So sad to hear.

My three gals have been inside for almost all of their 14 years, and they're just fine with that. There's plenty for them to get into indoors and on the screened porch. And now that they're "elderly ladies", they're content with just napping in the sun. I second kat's sentiments.

I'm so sorry to hear that...we have 4 cats, one is 16 years old so I don't know how much longer we'll have her but by gosh we'll miss her when she decides it's time to say goodbye. Our animals are so much part of our family.
However our 2 sons did not wake us at 5am by playing chasings across our bed.....
Cheers and hugs
