Pretty fascinatin' thread where the only posting that's signed is the one with the crude language.

My favorite Popsong:

Pepsi Cola hits the spot
Twelve full ounces, that's alot
Twice as much for a nickel, too
Pepsi Cola is the drink for you!

I believe this was the original Pepsi jingle, used during the time that Coca-Cola came in 6 ounce bottles.

One bottle of pop
Two bottles of pop
Three bottles of pop
Four bottles of pop
Five bottles of pop
Six bottles of pop
Seven bottles of pop
POP!
Don't throw your trash in my backyard
My backyard, my backyard
Don't throw your trash in my backyard
My backyard's full!

And another verse to Barbara's song: Fish and chips and vinegar,
vinegar, vinegar
Fish and chips and vinegar,
yum yum yum POP

We sing this in parts, each having a different melody. Seems like there's another part but I don't remember it.

Also sometimes the "trash" verse goes:

Don't brush your muck in my dustbin
my dustbin, my dustbin
Don't brush your muck in my dustbin
My dustbin's full!

Yah, and the whole thing is in DT, including the tune to this 3 part round. Seems like I remember a parody from the Nixon era, too, that went "Ron and Don and Oliver 3x, shred! When did he know it what did he know, who did he know about .... da da .." CRS kicks in again.
Blessings,
Barbara

"A penny for a spool of thread, a penny for a needle. that's the way the money goes.. POP goes the Weasel!"

(early 'POP' song)

....[the reason I hang out with this silly bunch is that they can make an interesting thread out of anything...even egregious stupidity!]...{goes along with my college major, Philosophy. That was an excuse to meddle in EVERYONE's business, folk music is an excuse to SING about everything!}
