There is a Tag ending on the bridge, which is to say, a slight change in the chord progression, played in stop time(which means that each chord sounds once and stops, while the singer finishes the measure unaccompanied while keeping the tempo. This is a standard device used by song and dance performers in vaudeville, also called the "Big Ending". They are not, strickly speaking, easy chords for beginners, but you can make them very easy by simply playing it all in one key, and, instead of playing E6 and Emaj7, simply playing a straight E chord. Also, you can ignore the tag ending and do each verse the regular way. If you are not familar with the way that I have notated this, there is one measure between each / / and you play two downstrokes for each chord that I have shown. Some measures have an extra chord connected with a hyphen like this / E Eb7-D7/--you play only one down stroke for each chord when the are connected this way--so the measure would be played with two downstrokes on the E, and one on the Eb7 and one on the D7-- To make it even easier, at the bottom I've transposed it into the key of D, so you can play it without using barre chords. I also have a couple of the lp soundtracks that I cherish. A sappy movie in many ways. There is Tuesday Weld as Danny's daughter as a teenager, her first movie I think, some actual 30s & 40s musicians playing cameos of themselves, but mostly GREAT music, Louis in his prime. 1958? I think? I used to dig it out and play this duet or trio on a jazz show I used to do when I was signing off and always got calls & requests about it. |
