I bought the book, but gave it to one of my guitar students, otherwise I'd be glad to provide the information you wanted. I really liked Trevor Veitch's electric guitar solo on it. Good luck finding the words/chords. I know there's more verses than what Tom Rush recorded, because they were included in the book. |

Here's a link to a long interesting history of the seminal Canadian folk-rock band "Three's A Crowd", which recorded the song first, I think. At various times it included Titcomb, Bruce Cockburn, the late Colleen Peterson, Trever Veitch and God knows who else... www.classicrockpage.com/everheardof/threesacrowd.htm These days Hawkins the onetime mad gypsy poet is an Ottawa cabdriver. The lyrics to Gnostic Serenade might be in the book "Coast To Coast Fever" from OFC Publications, a Canadian songwriter compilation from the early 80's. Didn't find the Gnostic Serenade lyrics, but I got to wondering what became of some of the members of Three's a Crowd and The Children who I'm not familiar with--like Donna Warner. No enlightenment came, unfortunately there's a porn star of the same name who returns most of the search results even when you try to deselect sexual words in the search query. Ho hom. W-O |
