29 Nov 03 - 07:54 AM (#1062735) Subject: RE: Tech: RealAudio help! From: Bill D and....RealAlternative "Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install the official RealPlayer. You do need a media player that is capable of playing RealMedia files. The included Media Player Classic supports it. Supported are RealAudio (.ra .rpm), RealVideo (.rm .ram .rmvb), RealText (.rt), and ReadPix (.rp). Not fully supported are: Streaming smil files (.smi .smil) and Realmedia embedded in webpages." |

29 Nov 03 - 08:56 AM (#1062759) Subject: RE: Tech: RealAudio help! From: Geoff the Duck On my computer Real player stopped working after a crash - I installed RealOne but it refuses to accept almost any file I try to play with it. I've uninstalled it because of this, but just found the original older real player install file. Will try that later today. Quack! GtD. |

29 Nov 03 - 09:31 AM (#1062765) Subject: RE: Tech: RealAudio help! From: Jeri I wish I had the older version somehwere on my computer because I can't stand the RealOne player. It has a browser I don't need or want. It has an automatic update feature you can't shut off, and the "Real" site tries to access my computer every time I listen to something - even off-line. Maybe you can do a search: In Windows Explorer (either look in Start/Programs or ask a kid) Click on your C drive Go to Menu: Tools - Find - Files or folders In the Name & Location tab, type in "real*.exe" Sit back and wait while it searches through you whole hard drive. If it finds something that says "Real[something player].exe" it's probably the installation file for RealPlayer. If you double click it, you can install the program. |

08 Feb 04 - 11:01 PM (#1112216) Subject: RE: Tech: RealAudio help! From: Bill D *grin*...Clinton originally set me on to JetAudio, which plays RA and RAM files AND records AND plays movies..etc....I now have 2 versions of that! But where I get 84.329% of my stuff is in the alt.comp.freeware newsgroup...been lurking there for 4-5 years. (I have actually had problems getting Real Alternative to run and haven't had time to mess with it.) |
