Or that she doesn't -think- she did ANYTHING wrong...

I'm consoled knowing that in about 300 to 400 years the magnetic poles are likely gonna flip, and for a few years this planet won't have ANY protection from cosmic rays and solar radiation... (While the field passes through its "nodal point")   And with any luck, that'll mean the end of all stupid life on this rock... It'll shake this planet like it was an Etch-a-sketch...

And the universe will go on, happy to be rid of this failled experiment...

Standard operating procedure when a nursing mom has the child with her on a road trip is to pull over in a rest area to nurse. Thankfully, this nut is a rare exception to the rule.

Now if they can stop idiots from letting little dogs ride on their laps to hang their heads out of the driver's window at 65 mph they'll give the rest of us some peace of mind. I'm always afraid one of those dogs is going to come flying out on the highway.

Like roaches... where there's one, there's probably millions!

"stop idiots from letting little dogs ride on their laps"
I couldn't care less about the dogs...

It's the thousands and thousands killed every year because of driver error that bothers me... (95% of all traffic accidents are driver error... or close to it)

"Donkers reportedly said she fed the baby on her husband's orders to save time."

Save time, risk life of driver, child & everyone else on the road. This sounds to me like the general culture's priorites in extreme, instead of really holding alternative values. I don't see where "house arrest" will make a difference.

The dog presents the same kind of driver distraction, Clinton. My concern is two-fold, the distracted driver causing accidents and the mashed pup.

It's too bad that it's the act of nursing that is somehow going to get the bad rap, and not the fact that this woman can't think for herself and is a member of a cult that encourages such mindless dependence. Sounds like she shouldn't be behind the wheel anyway, since she doesn't have a license. She was talking on the cell phone and writing down notes AT THE SAME TIME as she was nursing. Geez. Talk about multi-tasking.

My exact sentiments, SRS. I can see (have seen!) nursing and talking notes, nursing and talking on the phone, but nursing, driving, talking o the phone and taking notes, all because Dear Hubby said to save time!

No problem! Punish him, too, because since she is subordinate to him ("Master and Man" concept in law) then HE has the ultimate responsibility for HER actions.

Let's see: reckless endangerment of a child, driving without a license, reckless driving, failure to stop, running from the cops...ought to give him a few years in the Graybar Hotel. She can be ordered into a care facility, preferably one that will let her have her child with her.

Too bad there's no punishment for that male's REAL crime!

"Donkers" - I thought Americans didn't go in for rhyming slang...

Why hasn't the husband being charged? After all, according to this perverse little sect, it would appear that he was primarily responsible for what happened, and was in charge of the vehicle and its occupants.

That woman's name might better be "Bonkers", I'm thinking. What she is doing is sort of symptomatic of the whole North American culture (the multi-tasking nonsense), but she's an extreme example of it.

What judge had his head far enough up his ass to issue that sentence? What she needed was three months in jail so she would at least stand a chance of realizing what an idiot she is.

We have laws against using cell phones while driving. We also have laws that everyone uses a seatbelt & babies under a certain age must be in an approved Baby capsule & restrained by seat belts. And not forgetting the other laws against child abuse, including in certain cases compulsary reporting of abuse. A child in danger (moral or physical) can be removed from the parent/caregiver.

Poor little kid - what kind of a life will it have (if it survives further car trips) & house arrest - will it be a Master or a slave?

I've never accorded huge importance to blowjobs, Susan. They rank fairly low down on the scale of great sexual experiences as far as I'm concerned, though I'm not opposed to the practice by any means...

I don't get why so many men seem to be obsessed with them (judging by what I've observed here and there). What's the big deal?

Actual intercourse is far superior, in my opinion, as one is giving as well as receiving. It's more interactive.

I realize this is a divergence from the main point of this thread, but I cannot let your implication that all men lose their judgement at mention of the mundane, common blowjob go unchallenged... :-)

I dunno, Clinton. With that particular delightful manoeuvre, it's been my experience that the actuality always blows away the idea (pun kind of intended, but not enough to bother crafting it better). Consider that most (straight) guys are terribly excited about the idea of a blowjob from a woman, but disgusted by the idea of one from another guy, even though, if they kept their eyes closed the whole time, they wouldn't know the difference (unless the male blower had done it more and was therefore markedly more skillful).

The idea of a relationship with a woman who would do whatever I told her, without question or complaint, is exciting to me for about as long as I can avoid the question of how I'd deal with the responsibility involved.

Most of the comments here are from blokes, with a few not very informative inputs from the ladies.
It is my observation (as a bloke) that most women, especially experienced Mums, can multitask very impressively. I can't and don't answer the phone on the move, and even stop talking in traffic.
I have, however, seen my own Mum knitting to a pattern on one arm of her chair, a book on the other, litening to/watching TV, and joining in with any of several family conversations, all at the same time. There wouldn't be too many guys who could do that, so how about some thoughtful input from the ladies.
It is just the dangerous bit, the 65mph, that is horrifyingly stupid, isn't it.
Isn't it?

As a female and a mother, it is possible to multitask, just as it is possible to be truly stupid in a moving vehicle. To care for a child whilst living a (relatively) normal life, multitasking is essential. However, I would never suggest a BJ in the front of a vehicle (that steering wheel is bloody hard on the head, and you nearly always get the hand brake or the gear lever in a tit), I would never dream of feeding anything to anyone if I was driving and I use a cradle for the phone on answerphone and wait till I get to a suitable place to stop and return the message.

I have done the following a pattern on one leg, listening/watching TV and had conversations with people but never whilst driving. Multitasking is a great skill to learn, but the biggest skill is learning when NOT to multitask.

LOL! Good one, Peg! Best laugh I've had this morning...

It's not that I scorn the merits of the legendary blowjob, it's just that I am perplexed by the utter obsession for them that is so clearly evident in pornographic materials intended for men. That's what I don't get. It's overkill.

I do not intend to reveal any more personal revelations regarding my own experiences in this area... (big "AWWWWWWW!" from the collected loggers-on and GUESTS at Mudcat...) :-)

Now here's what your typical commuter might be seen doing (simultaneously, I mean) on Toronto's busiest highway (the 401) on a frantic Friday afternoon in rush hour: He's drinking a hot coffee, reading the latest Stephen King novel, consulting his Ontario road map for directions to Haliburton, giving the finger to the guy he just cut off, talking to his wife on the cellphone, scratching himself, eating a Whopper, adjusting the miniTV set that is mounted on the dashboard, AND driving....sort of.

So I can see why people would want to try and do something else besides just driving, especially in gridlock or slowdowns because all the rubberneckers are gawping at the latest accident in the inside lane of the 401...

But there has to be limits.

Nice going, Cluin. :-) The thing about being stuck in traffic is, it's a perfect time to learn some of those subtler spiritual techniques like:

remaining calm in a supposedly "stressful" situation

concentrating on slow, relaxed breathing

appreciating the present and enjoying it to the fullest, instead of focusing intently on some hypothetical future (like your arrival at wherever you are trying to get to)

ceasing the "end-gaming" approach to life

living in the "now"

realizing it doesn't actually matter if you get to the next light a few seconds or even a few minutes sooner...because if you di, so what? And you'd probably still be in a hurry anyway...to no useful effect.

being kind to other people and letting them change lanes, move in, etc...like you would want them to do for you!

All of the above is completely lost on the competitive personality, who approaches every situation in life on a win/lose basis and regards every other person as an obnoxious nuisance or (if she's pretty) as an object to be used or acquired. He rushes busily through existence, seeking an elusive reward that is always around the next corner, and suffering pain and disappointment on almost every step of the way. He is "the busy backson". He dies sooner than he might have, causes pain to others, and misses almost every quiet and beautiful thing around him along the way.

So...being stuck in traffic is an opportunity, and it's a valuable one.

The last thing on Earth that the marketing system wants is a mature public...they want a public that is bored, scared, driven, and frustrated...and looking for a "magic pill" to take it all away.

Hey, Cluin and LH: being stuck in traffic is the perfect place for a BJ. Nobody's goin' anywhere, no bumps to worry about, and it gives the truckers something to think about as they pass. I figger the greatest resistance will come from the Brits. They have nothing like the TransCanada with about 20000000 miles of Canadian Shield to drive through, 170000000 miles of Saskatchewan and a 22 hour crawl from Vegreville to the west side of Edmonton. (The last bit isn't TransCanada, but it would fit right in if it was.)

Bruce, we've got the M25. World's longest car park. Might as well have something to do other than listen to Capital FM or some other crud.

My worry is the practicality. I know from any car I've driven that the steering wheel would be in the way of anyone trying to get their head in my crotch. To accomodate, I'd need the seat far enough back that I wouldn't be able to reach the wheel or pedals. Hey, maybe I've just discovered a sneaky bit of car design, so that anyone wanting a blowjob whilst driving has to take their foot off the throttle, so the car naturally drifts to a halt (stalling at about 10mph because you can't change gear).

I totally agree with Little Hawk about blowjobs in porn. Receiving the actual thing is one thing, but exactly what is there about watching someone else receive it that's supposed to be so thrilling? Let's see, we have a penis being inserted into a woman's mouth. I am heterosexual. I don't particularly get off on looking at guys' penises. And if I do get a burning desire to look at a penis, I'll just look at my own. And I can look at real live women's mouths all I want to in the grocery store or the library or any other public place. If I wanna look at porn I wanna see women doing things with the parts of their anatomies that I don't usually get to see, not their mouths.

Maybe it's just the guys who never get blowjobs that like to look at pictures of other guys getting them.

It's a boneheadedly stupid idea all right, but that doesn't mean people won't do it. Some guy lost control of his car on Yonge Street in downtown Toronto for that very reason, and ended up veering onto the sidewalk, scattering pedestrians in all directions, and crashing through the front of a store. Fortunately, no one was killed. The police were not amused, and he lost his license and got charged with a number of violations of the law. I'm not sure what they did about his girlfriend.

Cell phones? I don't like 'em, but they are useful in some respects. I have resisted getting one so far.

I must admit that I have driven with a girlfriend giving me a BJ. It was before the seat belt laws were introduced in the UK. What's more, there were six other passengers in the vehicle (a long wheelbase Landrover) but only the pair of us in the front. She laid down across the front seat pretending to be tired and "fell asleep" with her head in my lap. By the time I realised what she was up to, it was too late to say anything and when I made one remark, a gentle bite was enough to warn me of the possible result of objecting. I'm glad though, that it was a straight empty road and that I didn't need to make an emergency stop. Incidently, the lady concerned is a member of Mudcat and does look in and post now and again . . . . .

So here's this guy driving along, oh, the Beltway around Washington DC. It's early rush hour, but traffic is still moving well in excess of the speed limit. As he approaches the point where the traffic from I-95 from Baltimore joins the Beltway, his Internet connection displays an email that his wife has left him. He takes a quick call from his broker, who tells him that his stock portfolio has lost half its value and he needs to come up with a couple hundred thou before the market opens tomorrow, the "Blues Clues" video tape has run out and the kids in the back are screaming, his radio choices are Rush Limbaugh and rap, and his girlfriend is saying that now that his wife has left they can get married.

Ah....

If we're talking about giving head in a car why are we all assuming that the men are doing all of the receiving ? Whats good for the goose is good for the gander as well. Not as easy perhaps - but still worthwhile.

Well, for sure, Wesley. Look, here's an idea: Get a chauffeur to drive the vehicle, and have one of those cars with tinted windows and a private area at the rear with a divider sealing off the front. Chauffeur drives, while you and your ladyfriend engage in whatever pleasurable acts come to mind. This seems to me like an elegant and practical way to approach the whole situation, with a minimum of risk or possible embarrassment to other drivers. That's the way I'd do it, given the choice. :-) Then too, you could go the Willie Nelson route and ride in a big tour bus, complete with jacuzzi and minigolf driving range for those who like to have sex in the great outdoors, or a reasonable facsimile thereof!

My bet is that if Penelope Rutledge decided to have sex in a moving vehicle, that she wouldn't consider it unless it was either piloted or chauffered by a highly trained and discreet professional in a spiffy uniform.

Wesley - it would be a bit difficult/dangerous to "give head" while you're actually driving though.

Imagine the scene if Ms Rutleges' chauffeur-driven car were to break down. The chauffeur gets out the tool kit and lifts the bonnet - or hood to you transatlantic types. He then crawls undeneath the car. Ms Rutledge gets out of the car to see if she can be of some assistance. She can only recognise one of the items in the tool box, so she calls undetneath "Do you want a screwdriver ?" and gets the reply "If you're in the mood m'lady, but let me get this car sorted out first".
