Origins: fight, fight the demon in the drink

Hi,
Does anyone know the origin of this song which I've heard sung at a folk night, it seems to be some sort of temperance song, the first lines of the chorus are as follows : -
"fight, fight, fight the demon in the drink
fight, fight, fight you're teetering on the brink
lucifer is lurking in the port and lime,
claiming dipsomaniacs at opening time"

I'd be interested to know if anyone is aware of a recorded version of it.

Cheers,
Mick.

Sung by Instant Sunshine written by Peter Christie

'Why's the church so empty on the Sabbath day
Has a worthy pleasure lead the flock astray
They're carousing in the Crown......'
