As usual, I can't quite get all the words from listening. In particular, the verse that talks about takin' the electric chair, the next verse that talks about goin' back to dixieland and the verse that starts "hush little children..." I believe the album title is "Getting Folk out of the Country." They called it Whitehouse Blues, too, I think. If I can dig out the album, I'll post the verses. |

Cindy Mansen, as I've said before, is my Favorite trad female singer |

I think the name- Czolgosz is misspelled in about every version posted. Should his name be spelled correctly? I have several versions of White House Blues entitled, "Czolgosz." But my transcription comes from listening to a recording, so I dunno. I can't remember where I got the spelling from, but I imagine I looked it up. It's a transliteration, so there is no correct spelling in American English letters. Besides, if there is a variety of spellings, the song is more likely to come up in a search. -Joe Offer- |
