BS: Seeking drinking companion

From: GUEST,Blind DRunk in Blind River

Okay. Like...Help me out here, eh? My idiot brother has cut me off...ON NEW YEARS!!! Don't blood count for nothin no nmore?

So here's what I need eh? Wanted: Disencumbered and majorly liberal drinking companion who will buy...and buy....and buy.... Female preferred, but not demanded. Will take male in a pinch. Would still prefer females. More than one is okay, eh?

I am a majorly handsome and cool stud from Blind River which is probablly the coolest town in Canada. Age 27, ruggedly attractive, not bald, semi-educated, speak English, extroverted, very physical type guy who can chug like a choochoo and swear in French. Have drove snowmoblies across very thin ice and played chicken with CN and CP trains.

Looking for like I said majorly liberal type who likes to buy drinks, smokes, joints, and stuff like that and ain't too selfish to share.

Can promise a real good time. I am a legend in this town. I can show ya where all the hot spots are too, eh?

This inspires the beginning of a new song entitled "A**holes Just Wanna have Fun...." -- not personal, BDiBR, I've been meaning to write it for years and was just waiting for a good title. Thanks!

BDiBR: I like don't wanna be offensive here, but I was trolling like this on another thread, and they just laughed at me, ay? You know where all the good spots are, right? If you remember posting here, don't forget your buddy in Alberta, right?

My borhter says he has cut me off. Big flippin' deal. I have cut HIM off. He don't get no more favours from me. No more Mister flippin nice guy!

I figger that enny minute the girls will be linin' up, so, like, I will send you one for...next week. Alberta is a long drive eh?

Blind River is in North Ontario, a fair way to the west of Sudbury. It's a rather small town on the TransCanada Highway in the middle of nowhere. If you like to drink, Blind River is the place to go, I hear, cos there ain't a whole lot else to do there unless you like racing snowmobiles across frozen lakes. Clinton Hammond has never played Blind River, but Rick Fielding has. I have never played Blind River, but I did eat at their Tim Horton's once, and that's how I met Shane (BDiBR).

North Ontario, eh? Was Blind River the town Neil Young was thinking of when he wrote, "Helpless?"

"There is a town in North Ontario...."

Matter of fact, Blind River may very well be that town that Neil Young refers to in "Helpless"...and he does mention Blind River specifically in another song about his youth: "Long May You Run"

If you're from North Ontario or have gone there, this rings a chord in the heart which cannot be denied.

Yesterday on the CBC, Stuart Maclean (sp?) was hosting a show about the history of Canada BC (Before Celine). He said that thousands of years ago, the glaciers came down from the arctic, going south until they got to Sudbury, where they turned around and headed back north to get more rocks.

Wish I could help you, BDiBR, but I'm drinking with Mr. the Sailor tonight.

Always the black flies wherever you go
I'll die with the black flies a-pickin' my bones
In North Ontario io, in North Ontario.

Go in the winter would appear to be the answer.

Been through Blind River, but always preferred Armstrong for its drunkenness further from amenities, great fishing, no law enforcement that matters, and black flies big enough to make a meal. But, anywhere where Celine Dion isn't likely to gig can't be all bad.

Sorry I can't help. I'll just listen in from here.

Peace, Mooh.

The town Neil refers to in "Helpless" is Thunder Bay, actually.

If you coulda snagged a ride to the Sault yesterday, you coulda come to Mack Island with us for a drunken jam, Shane.

Give it up people. Loser-boy is so sick today that he can't even crawl outta bed. I have felt better myself too, eh? But compared to him I am in the pink. I have seen dead dogs that looked better than he does right now. I got no idea where he was last night, what he did, or who's booze he was drinkin' but the lad got totally flippin' wasted. Drunker than a hardboiled owl. I figger I have saved at least $300 because I didn't pay for his good time. I am gonna put on Black Sabbath full blast in about 5 minutes and see what he does. Should be good. Happy flippin' New Year, eh!

Don, if you've got it, the finale to the 1812 overture, complete with cannons, works better for that. I did that one once in University to a res-mate who woke me up at 4 am pounding on my door drunk when he knew I had an exam at 9.

Borrow an electric guitar and amp. Crank both to max volume. Strike a D13 flat 5 flat 9. See spot. See spot jump. See spot quake. See spot spread.

I spent three weeks there one night. And I learned to call it TUNDER BAY. Gotta love the TransCanada.
