Is it recorded for every single town and village? The reason I'm asking is that a vilage in northern England was reported as the coldest place in the UK the other day, yet it was also bloody freezing in Harlow where I was. Would someone have been recording the temperature in my town as well, or would I have been freezing my b*******s off for nothing? |

Saw a broadcast on CBC saying that the coldest spot in Canada was -46 C. It was -54 C where I was living. Airport thermometer. Guess we didn't figure it was that big a deal. Too cold to dial the phone, so -46 C it is in the history books. |

Who decides coldest From: LilyFestre Around here, the television viewers are invited to email their current temperatures/rainfall/snowfall amounts in to the station. The weater forecaster puts those up on the screen. Who's to say that Fred in Bradford isn't lying his rear off when he says he got 15 inches of snow and the rest of us saw only an inch or two...who knows? Does it really matter? I think it's kinda fun to email my info in and see if our teeny tiny blip of a village makes it on the big map...right along with the big cities. I know..I know...simple minds...simple pleasures...but hey...that's why I'm here, RIGHT? *smirk* Michelle |
